- Ruby Sayyed, Head, Air Traffic Management Advocacy at IATA (the International Air Transport Association), will participate in Expodrónica 2019 at the first World Drone Forum.

Madrid, 2019, May 24th. Expodrónica 2019 keeps on going one step forward to establish itself as the benchmark in the drone sector in Europe. One of the great protagonists at Expodrónica will be Ruby Sayyed, Head of Air Traffic Management Advocacy, at the International Air Transport Association (IATA) who will participate not only at the World Drone Forum but also as a jury of the first International Drone Hackathon.
Bio of Ruby Sayyed
An aviation professional with 16 years of experience in airline operations, regulatory compliance, and global standards, Ms. Sayyed holds a B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering. She started her career as an Aircraft Engineer with Royal Jordanian Airlines, progressing from engineering to operational, safety, and management positions within the airline industry. She joined IATA Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Regional office in March 2010, and then moved to Montreal in 2014 to join the IATA ATM Infrastructure Headquarters team.
Within her current role, she drives global ATM policy and advocacy as well as the roll-out of global initiatives for ATM efficiency. Since 2016 she’s been leading the project for the safe and efficient integration of UAS into airspace, focusing on innovation and transformation in Air Traffic Management, in addition to mitigation of risks. She is designated as the IATA member to the ICAO Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) Panel and and the Task Force on the Unmanned Aircraft Systems for Humanitarian Aid and Development (TF-UHAD).
At Expodronica, Ms. Sayyed will give a talk on “Living in the age of drones: the risks they pose and the opportunities they provide”.
